Blues' rising star Hoskins Sotutu eligible for New Zealand, Fiji and England

The Blues have won their opening three games of Super Rugby Aotearoa with star no.8 Hoskins Sotutu putting in massive performances in all three games.

Sotutu's form for the Blues' in 2020 has seen many tip him for a test debut in the All Blacks jersey but the New Zealand Herald has revealed that the powerhouse 21-year-old qualifies for New Zealand, Fiji and England.

Sotutu's father Waisake was the vice-captain of Fiji during the 1999 World Cup and played on the wing for Auckland from 1991-97 and the Blues in 1996.

While Sotutu played most of his life in the backs it's in the pack where he is making a name in Super Rugby.

"I started off on the wing because, you know, Fijians are wingers," Sotutu told the Weekend Herald this week.

"I think I got a little bit slower and bigger so the coaches decided to chuck me in the forwards and see how I go and I've stayed there.

The form of the youngster has caught the eye of new Fiji coach Vern Cotter who is understood to be hopeful of luring Sotutu if All Blacks don't come calling, England may yet try their luck.

Sotutu qualifies for England through his English mother but Blues' forwards coach Tom Coventry believes he has what it takes to make the All Blacks.

"Having three choices is pretty cool but I like to think he's an All Black in the making,"
