Peter O'Mahony Agrees Three-Year IRFU Deal

Peter O'Mahony has agreed fresh terms with the IRFU, signing on a three-year contract which will see him remain with Munster until at least 2021.
The Munster loose forward became only the 11th Irishman to captain a British & Irish Lions Test team, when he led the tourists against the All Blacks in Auckland and has won 42 caps for his country with his last appearance in green coming against Los Pumas during the November Internationals.
Made captain of his province in 2013, O' Mahony first lined out for Munster in January 2010 against Ulster and has gone on to make 98 appearances scoring 12 tries in the red shirt.
IRFU Performance Director, David Nucifora commented;
“Peter has had to travel a tough road since the 2015 Rugby World Cup where a serious injury kept him out of action for a prolonged period. He has returned to form for both Munster and Ireland and as captain of Munster is a key leader within their environment.”
Munster Rugby CEO Garrett Fitzgerald said;
