Antoine Dupont overcomes injury scare to play Wales

Antoine Dupont will captain France against Wales in the Six Nations on Friday after overcoming an injury scare in a training session on Monday.

The French captain reportedly injured his elbow but has been named in France's team to face Wales and will be monitored during the week before the clash at the Principality Stadium on Friday (20:00 UK kick off time).

Centre Gael Fickou also missed the training session yesterday but both players have passed fit for the encounter.

There is just one change to the starting XV with Gabin Villière replacing Damian Penaud on the wing, the latter tested positive for Covid, as did replacement lock Romain Taofifenua.

Cyril Baille, Julien Marchand, and Uini Atonio start in the front row with Cameron Woki and Paul Willemse in the second row.

Francois Cros and Anthony Jelonch start on the flanks with Gregory Alldritt at no.8.

Romain Ntamack starts at flyhalf with Jonathan Danty and Fickou in the centres. Yoram Moefana starts on the right wing with Villiere on the left and Melvyn Jaminet at fullback.

Peato Mauvaka, Jean-Baptiste Gros and Mohamed Haouas all feature on the bench with Demba Bamba falling out of the matchday 23.

Thibaud Flament and Dylan Cretin provide cover at lock and flank respectively while France have gone for a 5-3 spilt on the bench. Maxime Lucu, Thomas Ramos and Matthis Lebel cover the backline on the bench.
