Leinster smashed Connacht 56-20 in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions Cup. Leinster took a five point advantage into the match after a 26-21 away win in the first leg. Connacht got off to a bright start, kicking a penalty just a minute in, but missing a second attempt at goal five minutes later. It was all Leinster thereafter, as they ran in three tries to open up a 21-3 lead. Connacht picked up a yellow card five minutes from halftime and Leinster took advantage with a fourth score to take a 28-3 lead into the break, up emphatically 54-24 on aggregate. It took just a minute into the second half for Leinster to cross for try number five and extend their lead. Connacht went over for their first try shortly after, but then picked up a yellow card. This allowed Leinster to run in another try after 55 minutes to lead 42-8. The final quarter was a sea-saw affair, with the sides alternating two tries apice to see Leinster cruise into the Champions Cup quarter-finals after a dominant second leg, winning 82-41 on aggregate over the two matches.
