He captained the Wellington U19s in 2015 and was a Jubilee Cup winner in 2016, scoring a try in Tawa’s 24-20 win over Marist St Pat’s in the final.

Patafilo debuted for the Wellington Lions against the Hawke's Bay in 2019, before joining the Hurricanes for the 2021 season.

Patafilo was signed by the Crusaders for the 2021 Super Rugby season and made his debut in a match against the Highlanders. He has since become a regular member of the Crusaders squad and is known for his speed and attacking ability on the wing.
