Its all over! Western Province prove too strong for the Sharks and come out victors by 17 points to 13. Duane Vermeulen was absolutely outstanding this evening stealing countless balls for WP, denying the Sharks possession time after time. It was a tough match tonight and really tested the players handling skills. The Sharks may have tried to do too much in the first half and WP played the more tactical approach which helped them get a first half lead. The second half was more evenly contested but WP were just better at the breakdown. Lambie missed a couple of penalties which could have swung the game in the Sharks favour at the end. Ultimately the better side on the night won. WP take the top spot on the log and will face the Lions at Newlands whereas the Sharks will take on the Cheetahs in Durban.
