Review: South Africa vs Wales
South Africa have claimed their spot in the Semi-Final of the RWC after a hard fought 23-19 victory against Wales. After opening the scoring through 2 attempts at goal by Handre Pollard, the Boks conceded a try thanks to a magnificent chip and chase by Dan Biggar.
The Southern Hemisphere outfit struggled for the majority of the encounter, finding themselves trailing by 1 point heading into the final 10 minutes. A moment of brilliance by no. 8 Duane Vermeulen picking off the scrum and throwing a brilliant offload released skipper Fourie Du Preez in the corner to score the try and claim victory for his nation.
South Africa now must wait for the result of New Zealand v France to discover who they will face in the Semi-Final.
MOTM - Schalk Burger
Burger had a superb game in the back row, leading from the front in what was a very physical battle between the forwards. The flanker showed his great work rate as he made his away around the field clearing out the Welsh at the breakdown and denying any ground in defense.
