Newell’s scrums were great all game, he won a crucial penalty in the 72nd minute of the game which extended the Crusaders lead. The prop made some strong carries and defensively sharp too, completing 12 tackles and missing none.
Ethan Blackadder
The loose forward was hungry for the ball carrying it up 17 times, which was more than anyone in the game. Blackadder was a defensive wall too, boasting a 100% tackle success rate, completing 16 tackles. He also won 1 turnover. The 30-year-old had a brilliant performance and was all over the field.
